Israeli airstrikes struck a bakery in the al Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza on Wednesday, killing 10 people, according to a statement released by the Gaza government press office. People could be seen sifting through rubble left in a large crater, as Israeli airstrikes continued across the besieged strip. Israel's military said it had conducted airstrikes across Gaza on Wednesday, targeting Hamas infrastructure.

UN special rapporteur for the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, called for an end to the violence on Wednesday, in response to a growing humanitarian emergency in Gaza. Albanese said: 'The trauma and destruction is unspeakable. An inferno that the Gaza people are in right now is a stain on all of us, on all the UN member states, especially those who have the power to stop it and do not do it'
