On Friday the 6th of December, the Adass Israel Synagogue in Melbourne was subject to an arson attack. This hate crime was rightfully condemned by media and politicians alike. However, one can't help but notice that the response to this attack is by both the Albanese government and the coalition, led by Peter Dutton, is far greater in severity than many other hate crimes that have occurred in Australia recently. So why the double standard?
