The megalodon is one of the largest sharks to have ever roamed the Earth. Luckily for us, it went extinct about 2.4 million years ago—or at least, that’s what we think.
Throughout history, people have reported seeing massive sharks, comparable in size to the megalodon. Most of these sightings have been proven to be false megalodon reports. However, some of them remain unexplained—was it really the megalodon, or not?
The point is that 95% of our oceans are still unexplored, which leaves room for a giant shark like the megalodon, or some other unknown creature, to be hiding somewhere in the deep ocean.
