More-updated description:
Finally, a video with correctly synchronized sound!
Anyways, this mostly shows off the "DISCO" area of Shin Megami Tensei II (SMT2), in the first "city" area. You can get there within an hour of starting the game, most likely, but I wandered about a bit before I arrived.
If you talk to the DJ, he can play any of the Back-Ground-Music (BGM) tracks for you, although the titles are much less than descriptive (being BGMxx, where xx is decimal number), and due to my setup, I couldn't actually hear any sound at the time.
This is the setup I used: snex9x 1.51, the "Record AVI..." function, with CamStudio 2.00's "Lossless Codec", LZO mode. A feature of this method is that sound is muted in realtime, but it is sync'd perfectly in the resulting AVI.
However, I ended up with a multi-gigabyte file, so I transcoded it using XVid MPEG-4 codec to compress the video and MP3 56kps to compress the audio... but, in that process, using VirtualDub 1.7.8 Stable, I had to fiddle a lot with various settings to get it to work "just right".
Eventually, I had to tell VD to resample the audio form 32Khz (SNES native) to 44.1KHz, before the mp3 encoder would work... and I had to decimate the frame rate to 30 fps (15 would have worked okay, too, but youtube is natively 30fps, 320x240 resolution, or at least, it used to be).
Well, I'm glad to have bored you with all those technical details xD.
For info on getting the emulator and roms, check out my earlier vid's description:
