The Serchio River basin (1.408 km2) is the third in largeness in the Tuscany Region. The territory of the Serchio Valley is one of the three main regional systems that divide the Province of Lucca. The River Contracts can be identified as negotiated and participatory planning processes aimed at containing the eco-landscape degradation and rehabilitation of the watershed / sub-watershed level territories. During the partecipatory process, The first pilot action of the Serchio River Contract has concentrated on a river stretch included in the Serchio middle Valley.During the participatory process 350 stakeholders have been involved throughout the plenary meetings, training sessions and working groups
