Hi everyone!
This is my special bolognese recipe that’s very popular with my friends and family. I love bolognese because it is so versatile. You can have spaghetti bolognese like I have in the video or you have have it with jacket potato, or on top of your nachos or add it to some puff pastry to make yummy pastries. The possibilities really are endless! I always make a larger batch and then store some away in the freezer.
Ingredients
1 large onion
1kg lamb, beef or chicken mince
1 can of kidney beans (or any other veg)
2tbs of ginger and garlic paste (or chopped)
1 or 1 and a half jars of dolmio bolognese sauce (or alternatively you can add 2cans of tomato pulp and 2 tbs of tomato purée)
1tbs of cumin powder
1tbs of dry mixed herbs
1 tsp mixed curry powder
1tsp paprika
1sp is chilli powder (optional)
1tbs salt (taste, then add more/less)
1. Add oil to pan. After it gets hot add onion, mince meat, ginger and garlic. The mixture will release water. Cook until water is reduced completely.
2. Add all powder spices and salt. Cook the spices on medium heat for 5-7 mins. Add a cup of water and let it dry out.
3. Add the Dolmio sauce and kidney beans and a cup (or two) of water. Cover and simmer for 45mins or more (up to 4hours).
