The IT Ministry has notified a new rule that will give powers to the Press Information Bureau (PIB) to fact-check any “fake, false, or misleading” information about the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Google.
