In the state of New Jersey (USA), a deep crater formed on the roadway and the side of the road, into which the road surface went, as reported by the New York Post.

"Construction crews are working around the clock to fix a huge hole on the I-80 highway near exit 40 in Wharton, which has caused huge traffic delays," the report says.

The state Department of Transportation reported that the sinkhole on the busy highway occurred due to an abandoned mine in the area. Due to the sinkhole, several lanes of traffic were closed, which created large traffic jams.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the incident. Drivers were advised to use other roads while workers fill in the deep hole.

It should be noted that in early December, dozens of unidentified drones were observed in the northeastern United States, and the greatest activity was recorded in the state of New Jersey.
