Donald Trump has been named Time magazine’s person of the year for the second time.

The president-elect accepted the award as he rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday alongside his wife, Melania, daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, JD Vance, the vice-president-elect, and cabinet nominees including Robert F Kennedy Jr.
Standing in front of his Time cover, a beaming Trump vowed to “straighten out … some big problems in the world” and restore the American economy to its former strength under his first term in office. “We’re going to have a tremendous run,” he said. “We had no inflation, and we had a very strong economy. And we’re going to do that again.”
