Hello and welcome to Cherokee NC! The birth of the Cherokee Indian. In this episode we are at "The Qualla" or known as the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Can't help but to wonder the stories and experiences they had around this beautiful river. The Oconaluftee or better known as the "Luftee". Which I have known since I was a small kid.
Anyways, this video covers a wide variety of trout fish and different ways you can catch them. Whether rod set ups like euro nymphing or dry/dropper set up (which my brother loves). We caught them in fast and deep current with luck using streamers with fish imitations and brighter colors. But once the rain settled it was time for the usual terrestrials with nymphs and midges and even the smaller streams.
I hope you enjoy but can't enjoy as much as we did unless you get out there and experience the sport for yourself.
