Russia’s state energy giant, Gazprom, has indefinitely shut down gas supply to Europe via its Nord Stream 1 pipeline. The Russian energy company had been due to resume its gas delivery to Germany on September 3. Russia has said it can restart the gas pipeline deliveries only after fixing the oil leak found in a vital turbine. Gazprom's announcement came shortly after the EU and G7 nations agreed to impose a price cap on Russian gas and oil. Is Russia weaponising its gas supply? How ready is Europe for a harsh winter?
