2 natural black opal cabochons originating from Ethiopia. These weigh a total of 7.10 CTS between the 2 stones and have been cut into oval shapes. These are not exact matches but are very close in size and measure approximately :
14.0 x 9.2 x 5.6 mm
13.3 x 9.1 x 5.4 mm
Both stones have a gorgeous display of shifting iridescent colors including flashes of an electric locking blue and a neon - like green. One of the gems has an even stronger play of color and exhibits red and gold coloring traveling throughput the main face of the gemstone. As with all opals, the colors are most intense when viewed under a lighter source, either artificial or sunlight.
These are natural gemstones and have been smoke treated to enhance color. Don't be fooled by lesser imitations, these are not doublets or filled product,these are solid earth mined stones. There is no discernable damage or chips and are in excellent condition.
