On 4th May 1978, Altab Ali, a Bangladeshi factory worker in his mid-twenties, was murdered in a racist attack as he walked home. Outraged, 7,000 locals from the London east end took to the street, marching behind Altab Ali's coffin in a show of unity and strength against racist violence.
Whitchapel Anarchist Group invite all locals from Whitechapel-no matter their age, ethnicity or belief- to come together and commemorate the memory of Altab Ali's murder.
The 'Altab Ali Memorial' event will took place every year in Altab Ali Park.
