Bangu is traditionally known as the hottest neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. It is in the West Zone of the city, being one of the most populous neighborhoods, with more than 250,000 inhabitants. The Bangu neighborhood borders the neighborhoods of Jacarepaguá, Campo Grande, Santíssimo, Senador Camará, Vila Kennedy, Realengo, Padre Miguel and Gericinó.
Due to its geographical location, being in a lowland, between the massifs of Pedra Branca and Gericinó, and far from the coast, which leads to heat islands, Bangu is known for recording high temperatures, especially in the spring and summer seasons, when thermometers usually reach temperatures close to or above 40 °C.
However, curiously during this filming, the city goes through an atypical period of low temperatures and high volume of rain in the month of October 2021. Thus, it was not possible to record the hot climate of the city and the population of Bangu. But sure we'll go back to that record.
