Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday filed a rejoinder affidavit in the Supreme Court and refused to apologise in connection with the 2019 criminal defamation case, or what is referred to as the Modi surname case. Rahul Gandhi has been convicted in the Modi surname case by a Gujarat magisterial court and was awarded a sentence of two years causing him to lose his seat in the Lok Sabha in accordance with the Representation of People Act. The top court will hear the matter on August 4.
