Fat oxidation happens through breath while you are sleeping. Dr. Janine talks about how caffeine increases oxidation by triggering epinephrin release in nerves in fat cells. She looks at how fat oxidation only happens if insulin is low. She recommends fasting before a workout to help maximize fat burn. Dr. Janine shares her favorite herbal medicines to help increase both fat mobilization and oxidation like green tea, Panax ginseng, and maca.
