This Jazz Piano Tutorial is about Hard bop.
Hard-bop was the dominant genre as Jazz from the mid 1950’s to the mid 1960’s and is characterised by strong blues and gospel influence.
It arose due to some combination of the following reasons:
1. As a reaction to Cool Jazz
2. As a result of the rise of Rhythm n’ Blues in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s
3. To return bebop to melody
