If you don't have a full-sized bandsaw, you'll probably want to resaw (vertically cut) on a tablesaw. This can be dangerous - a vertical workpiece is unstable, and one slip is all it takes to cause injury.
This jig clamps the workpiece firmly in the vertical position, and keeps your hands well away from the blade.
