In this video I introduce you to SketchUp's basic primitives, lines and planes, as well as some ways to work with them through snaps, breaking, and healing.
I also discuss a couple points of theory, specifically the disconnect between working in 3D space on a 2D surface and how the fundamental structures of all other objects in SketchUp are the line and the plane.
