EDF Renewables has developed a cutting-edge transmission-connected hybrid battery, combining a 50MW/50MWh lithium-ion battery with a 2MW/5MWh vanadium flow battery, on the outskirts of Oxford, England.
The site is part of Energy Superhub Oxford, a pioneering project led by EDF Renewables to help Oxford reach net zero by 2040. It is one of up to 40 sites EDF Renewables is developing across the UK to deliver up to 2GW of grid-scale battery storage.
