Rainer Weiss, professor emeritus of physics at MIT, has won the Nobel Prize in physics for 2017. Weiss shares the award with Caltech professors emeritus of physics Barry Barish and Kip Thorne. In this video Weiss describes learning of the first detection of gravitational waves.
