Based on a concept by Gene Roddenberry, this 1997 series was developed by his Widow (Majel Barrett). Aliens arrive on earth, but are they as friendly as they appear to be? The show aired for five seasons, with a mini-revamp in season two, and another in season five where a new alien species is introduced. Viewers may have been irked by the many cast changes (by the final season only one original player was still on board). Consensus seems to be that the first season was on another level over what came afterward. The theme by Mickey Erbe and Maribeth Solomon ('Adderly') was unchanged over the seasons.
