Connor: Hey everyone. How's it going Conner here today at the etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the pewag snox self-tensioning snow tire chains here for our 2017 Kia Sorento with tire size 235-65-17. So what I really like about these tire chains, and perhaps what sets them apart most from the competitors, is that there's a one-piece design, we do not have to make any connections, we just simply drape the elastic band around the back of the tire, pull forward so we can get the remaining elastic band behind the tire, and that's it, we're done. They are self-tensioning, so we don't need to make any further adjustments. We're always going to have this tight fit on our tires, keeping them in place, giving us the best traction.

So if we move into the top of our tire here and the chains you're going to see this diamond shaped pattern, and what this diamond shape pattern does is it's going to ensure we always have constant contact patch with the road.There's not going to be any lapses in coverage like we would for the traditional ladder style chains. And furthermore, the diamond pattern is actually going to give us a much smoother ride when we would compare this to the ladder style chains, which are a lot rougher and bumpier to ride on. Now, if we take a look at the actual chain construction we're going to see these D-shaped links with these ribs on the side. Now, what this is going to do is this is really going to bite into the snow and ice, so we get the best traction possible, whether we're braking or making turns. So if we take a look at the outer perimeter of the tire chains here we're going to notice two things, we're going to notice these red coated sections which are going to be a lot easier on our hands when we're installing these.

We're also going to see these nylon bumpers around the outside and this is definitely going to offer the best protection for our wheels here, so we don't have to worry about any dings or scratches.So with regards to what actually comes with our tire chains we're going to get a nice, detailed set of instructions, we're also going to get this really nice, hard case here that are going to allow us to store our tire chains in when they're inside the vehicle not being used. And furthermore, once we take them off and they're all wet, we have a nice plastic bag that we can keep them in so we don't get the inside of our vehicle wet as well. So now that we've gone over some of the features and benefits, let's jump right into installation to show you how easy these are to install yourself.So to start our installation today we want to take our chains and lay them out in front of us here. What we're going to do is we're actually going to look, this little blue housing here, we have a red button on there mount/dismount. So what we need to do for this first step is we need to make sure in this little window here that we have the green car, as opposed to this, there's going to be nothing there.

This is actually going to be the position that we need to have this in or a mounting these on the vehicle. So what we're going to do next is we're going to take this large red plastic housing here, we're going to drape that around to the backside of the tire. We want this to be at the top of the tire for this step, so we're going to take the elastic side, we're going to stretch them out, we'll place them over the tire like so.So we have most of the elastic band around behind the backside of the tire here. What we're going to do now is we're going to try to get this last center section here down below the tire. Now we're obviously not going to be able to wrap it around right now, but we do need to get this elastic portion under the tread, and I found the easiest way to do this is just to sort of use your foot here to position the tensioner.Now that we have our elastic portion here at the bottom of the tire we're going to want to pull forward or backwards so we can have this coming at the top here and we're able to push it behind the tire.

So now we've gone ahead and pulled back, we can simply take this bottom portion here that we had earlier, we're just going to drape this around to the back of the tire. Now we may need to make some final adjustments to ensure the elastic portion is around the back side of the tire on all sections here, but that should do it. So now that we have the tire chains in place
