In this mini lesson, we will be answering the essential question: What can I write about in my response journal?
Today I want to teach you to choose from a list of ideas, use a letter format, and follow the guidelines when you write a letter in your Reading response journal or notebook. These letters can be written in section two of the notebook or back and forth between teacher and student through sharing GoogleDocs.
Students will explore the guidelines of the reading response letter along with a sample letter written by the teacher from a recent, class read-aloud book.
Lessons come from The First 20 Days: Getting started with Reading Workshop compiled by: Debbie Rosenow, Dr. Jan Richardson, Hollie Steele.
