Wolff performs at IMRO First Cuts at Abner Brown's on Thursday 19 October 2017.
IMRO First Cuts Showcases at Abner Brown’s features the best up and coming as well as established Irish acts. In the intimate setting performers are given the opportunity to debut new tracks along with their current material.
A busy port town in Ireland’s South East is the last place you’d expect such a fearless, dark & raw sound such as WOLFF to emerge from. With the respective birthplaces of blues & grunge situated thousands of miles away, location becomes a mere fact of conscious reality once you let yourself in. Creating in a dimly lit basement during twilight hours under a shroud of solitude, the songs seem to come from somewhere else. This is his world, one of primal reactions, of pure instinct, which has been painted using the darkness in which it was created. Thunderous drums, growling bass, ferocious guitars and a howling voice combine to bring a huge sound to life. Blending the power & fire of traditional blues with trashy garage rock riffs & in-your-face vocals, WOLFF strikes a shadowy figure. Like the lyric says ‘You can sleep when you’re dead & done’ and this beast is just waking up. Explosive live performances to baying crowds at this year’s Vantastival, Sea Sessions, Castlepalooza & Electric Picnic festivals alongside a debut headline Irish tour and playing support to acts like Otherkin, Fangclub, Black Peaks & The Cadillac Three has cemented WOLFF’s reputation as a sonic behemoth on the Irish music scene. And with HBO, Fox Sports & Showtime featuring ‘Flesh Blood Skin & Bone’ and ‘Hey Now’ on air in the United States it’s only a matter of time before the whole world knows the name.
