In this video I talk about cultural marxism, give a definition for it, talk a bit about Marcuse and Gramsci, give examples showing the left used to use the term themselves, ask why in the world they deny it now, and go through the funniest conversation in the history of the world about it, which ends in me researching someone who is supposed to absolutely not be a cultural marxist, who it turns out works for or founded a cultural marxism psyop organization. Go figure.
Also, I say this near the end I think but maybe should have at the beginning--I am not even, like, 'opposed' to the thinkers in this tradition (at least the major figures--their intellectual progeny and most of the people who work with this stuff today, on the other hand, I mostly think do the ideas a major disservice and don't really understand them). My own thinking owes a lot to this tradition, and I think they have a lot to offer. But, yeah, the denialism is absurd and has to stop.
