i.MX RT1180 Crossover MCUs feature a high performance dual core architecture, advanced security, and multi-protocol networking with TSN support for industrial automation applications. The i.MX RT1180 includes an 800 megahertz Arm Cortex-M7 as the main CPU and a secure CPU based on a 240 megahertz Cortex-M33 with TrustZone. Security is enhanced with the EdgeLock Secure Enclave, which provides robust and easy-to-use system-wide security for compliance with IEC 62443. The crossover MCUs also offer five gigabit ethernet portal with 4 supporting TSN. This supports PROFINET RT, EtherCAT slave controller and other real-time industrial ethernet protocols. The MCUs also offer extensive connectivity options, providing designers with the flexibility to address a wide range of industrial use cases. The i.MX RT1180 evaluation kit offers extensive memories and connectivity interfaces and is supported by our MCUXpresso Suite of software and tools for rapid development.
