Putting on a Wetsuit

Today we’ll help to walk you through putting on a wetsuit. While it might sound pretty straightforward, slipping into your second skin isn’t always the easiest task. Wetsuits are meant to fit snuggly, without restricting (too much) movement. Here are the directions we'll cover to get your wetsuit on and off more easily and help it last longer too.

We’ll then break down how to put a wetsuit on:
Step 1 - Feet, ankles, and legs
Step 2 - Hips, crotch, and torso
Step 3 - Arms, shoulders, and neck
Step 4 - Double-check the fit

After you get your wetsuit on, we’ll cover how to put on wetsuit booties and gloves.

Taking off a Wetsuit

Taking off your wetsuit involves the same steps as getting it on but in the opposite order. If changing in public, a changing poncho or towel can help here significantly. A normal towel can do the trick but may require an extra hand.

Gloves and Booties
Hood, Neck and Shoulders, and arms
Torso, Hips, and Legs
Ankles and Feet

And just like that, you learn how to successfully get in and out of your wetsuit! Make sure to always rinse your wetsuit out with cold, fresh water and to hang to dry out of the sun.
