2018 promises to be a record year for Chilean cherry farmers. A large part of Chile's cherries have been exported to China over the last few years; the fruit is in particularly high demand during the Chinese New Year. This season, the South American country has beaten records for export, thanks to excellent seasonal temperatures and rainfall.
Cherry growers implement the latest technology on their farms. One machine takes more than 60 photos of each cherry, scanning it for the tiniest of imperfections. Chilean cherry farmers only choose the best of their harvest for sale.
