Enter the Dainese Latitour. It's one part technical Gore-Tex boot and one part comfortable riding shoe. A medium-length boot akin to the old Dainese Nighthawk, but with some serious upgrades in protection. A stiff sole, reinforced toe and heel box, and an impressively supportive ankle structure all make this an impressively protective (and comfortable) option for tourers.
