JetBlue has taken delivery of its first Airbus A220 on the final day of 2020, marking a new era for the airline as it transitions towards a more efficient fleet.

JetBlue’s first Airbus A220-300 is registered as N3008J and will be delivered from Airbus’ U.S. facility in Mobile, Alabama to New York JFK Airport.

This is the first of 70 Airbus A220-300s JetBlue currently has on order. The A220 will gradually replace JetBlue’s fleet of 60 Embraer 190s.

JetBlue is now the second U.S. airline to fly the Airbus A220 and the second airline to take delivery of an A220 from Airbus’ new U.S. facility following Delta Air Lines.
