We don’t have to look far to find stories about violence - locally or globally. Felicity de Zulueta has spent her life understanding violence and its link to pain and trauma all around the world. This talk explores the psychological origins of violence and how we can prevent it.
Felicity's current work focuses on the origins and transmission of violence down the generations and its role in understanding why people become violent, making sense of fundamentalism and current terrorist activities. Including promoting the use of a new therapeutic approach for traumatised adults, Video Interaction Guidance with their children. She gives lectures and runs training workshops on these subjects in the UK and abroad in Spanish, Italian or French.
Felicity is an Emeritus Consultant Psychiatrist in Psychotherapy at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Traumatic Studies at Kings College London.
