The A13 San Bernardino route, an important north-south transit route in Switzerland, is now open again after rapid reconstruction. During heavy storms in June, a section of the A13 near Lostallo was washed out. Construction workers managed to rebuild the route in uninterrupted two-shift operation, and it has been open to traffic since 5 a.m. on July 5. Passenger cars and heavy goods vehicles can now pass the repaired section at a speed of 80 mph. The complete renovation work for this section will continue until fall.
