In February 2021, the Life Changes Trust hosted an online webinar learning event, looking at the evaluation of our Get Outdoors funding.
In April 2018 the Life Changes Trust funded six Get Outdoors projects for up to two years with the purpose of supporting projects and activities that encourage and support people living with dementia and their unpaid carers to spend more time outside. The six projects were Sporting Memories, Instinctively Wild, The Froglife Trust, The Ecology Centre in Kinghorn, the Dumfries and Galloway project, and Evanton Wood Community Company, near Dingwall.
The purpose of our webinar was to examine the impact that being outdoors, and taking part in safe, organised activities, had on people living with dementia and unpaid carers.
This was done by looking at the key findings of the evaluation of the Get Outdoors funding, carried out by Outside the Box, and hearing some personal stories from those who took part in some of the projects. Their evaluation report looks in detail at the six different projects, what kind of activities they undertook, and the impact the projects had on participants.
This is the complete webinar.
