Flying the pattern is an integral part of flying so let me show you how to fly a circuit at my local Gawler Airport. I will take you through it step by step in this easy tutorial.

The pattern consists of ,once you have taken off , the Upwind Let then the downwind leg where you should be at pattern height which normally is 1000 ft AGL. Once you are past the end of the runway about 45 degrees you turn onto Base leg and start your 500 ft per minute decent then turning onto final at normally 500 ft and making your final approach and land.

If your looking to fly a circuit in any aircraft big or small it is essentially the same process. Let me show you how in this step by step easy tutorial.

Gunnies Let's Fly VFR is a channel with a focus on X Plane 11 with a primary interest is Flight Simulation but all flight is fun isn't it, so all facets of general aviation flying are welcome here. If you like to simulate dangerous situations you may encounter in real flight then this is the place to come. W e are all about entertainment and not necessarily trying to be a tutorial channel as I am not an Instructor.

I have over 20 years in aviation but my background is military aircraft but not as a pilot. I am/was a technician with experience on all the RAAF had to offer while I was in the Air Force. I was truly fortunate and also got to fly in many of the transports, helicopters even doing some door gunnery.
For me the highlight was having a fun flight in a Mirage IIIO and flights on Macchi Jet trainers. More fun with your clothes on you cannot have... :)
I earned my Sport Pilot License some years back and enjoy my time flying immensely. Flying VFR around the Adelaide northern towns has been a challenge and a lot of fun.
