"I wish I knew I did not have to make a choice when I was 16 - that it is OK to change." Gitanjali grew up in Mauritus and went on to work in advertising before changing direction to become a university lecturer. She was still not satisfied, so left a good life in Mauritis to study for a PhD in cultural studies at Goldsmiths University, London, funded through the StudentFunder scheme.
