Shia police personnel raised Shia sect slogans after open firing in Lahore on Friday night.
3 Pakistani policemen were killed and 5 others sustained injuries after protesters ran their vehicles over them.
"Protesters also hurled petrol bombs on officials," said Mazhar Hussain, Lahore DIG (Operation) spokesperson
Internet services have been suspended in some parts of Pakistan's Lahore following the protest.
