Take a closer look at how the Ministry of Education is supporting educational practices at three Christchurch schools – through providing flexible learning environments and purpose-built furniture.
Halswell Primary School has been completely rebuilt following the earthquakes, with facilities that are designed to support a range of teaching practices.
Waimairi School is several years away from its redevelopment, and in the meantime, they are prototyping the educational practices they want to provide, and changing the built environment around them to support this.
Te Waka Unua is also looking forward to its redevelopment, and already has several modular classrooms which allow them to provide a range of teaching practices for their Year 1 and 2 students.
