We're running some tests on our PowerStor battery charging unit, so that we can measure exactly how effective it is.

PowerStor is designed to safely charge and store Lithium Ion batteries, or products containing Li-Ion cells. It has built in fire suppression systems to help mitigate a Lithium Ion battery fire, which can help protect people and equipment nearby.

The batteries burn at several hundred degrees C, but the PowerStor dissipated the heat and withstood the force of the exploding battery just like we hoped! We had the fire crew on standby as a precaution, and they kindly used their thermal imaging cameras to show us the surface temperatures of the PowerStor during the test. The white smoke you can see is from the fire extinguisher system.
