Lecco is a city located in the Lombardy region of Northern Italy, situated on the eastern shore of Lake Como. It is the capital of the province of Lecco and has a population of approximately 48,000 people. The city has a rich history and is known for its stunning natural beauty, with the surrounding mountains and lake providing numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and water sports. Lecco is also famous for being the setting of Alessandro Manzoni's famous novel "The Betrothed" (I Promessi Sposi), which is considered one of the greatest works of Italian literature. The city has a vibrant cultural scene, with several museums, theaters, and festivals celebrating the local history and traditions.
