Ghana International School has a proud history of collaborating with the Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana to raise funds for needy children with heart conditions. This year, our seasonal appeal is for seven-year-old Emmanuella Hetty Appiah Boamah, who urgently needs a life-saving heart operation.
Clinical evaluations and investigations at the Department of Child Health, Korle-Bu, have indicated that she suffers from a complex heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). Her treatment will involve an initial palliative modified Blalock-Taussig shunt to improve blood flow to the lungs, followed by a full correction of the defect, approximately one year later.
The cost of the initial heart surgery, including intensive care, medication, and a ten-day hospital stay, is approximately two thousand five hundred US dollars (US$2,500.00). The second heart surgery, along with intensive care, medication, and another ten-day admission, will cost around nine thousand US dollars (US$9,000.00). In total, Emmanuella Hetty Appiah Boamah will require the equivalent of eleven thousand five hundred US dollars (US$11,500.00) to undergo these surgeries.
Let us come together as a school community to raise the necessary funds to support Emmanuella and give her the gift of life during this festive season. When making payments, please use the reference “CHF.” Below are the details for Momo and bank account deposits.
