This is a demo of cleaning up , engraving and mounting a copy of an 18th century Naval boarding axe that I made. The pattern is based on a privateer , private purchase style axe that is close to some of the British regulation axes.
From start to finish this took 23 hours of work , none of the forging is shown here , just the finishing , engraving and mounting. Forge welded from wrought iron and steel , a turned hickory handle.
