Today, I'm super excited to share a new painting session with you all. In this video, I'll be working on a long canvas using some pastel acrylics that I recently bought. Amsterdam just released 12 new colors, and of course, I couldn't resist trying a few of them out. I'll also be using some of my favorite Golden colors. Let's dive in and get started!
Since it's spring, I felt inspired to work with very soft shades and happy colors. After wetting the canvas, I began with a light ultramarine blue from Golden and tested out a new brush. I really love how vibrant and happy this color is.
Next, I tried a yellowish-green that caught my eye, mixing it with other colors to see how it would look. This color is quite different from what I usually use, but I think it adds a unique touch. I moved on to another blue, which blended beautifully and created some lovely green tones. I really like this new palette!
I enjoyed the process of connecting different parts of the painting, making sure everything felt cohesive. It's such a long canvas, so I hope you can see all the details even on camera. I’m really happy with how the lines turned out, and I think they add a beautiful touch to the painting.
After it dried, I was able to see how the colors blended together and descided to paint the sides in a gradient. The yellowish-green really elevates the painting, and the different blues give it a fresh look. I’m quite pleased with how the white blends into the background, focusing the attention on the blue and the overall composition.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on it, so please let me know in the comments. As always, thank you for watching, and I’ll see you next week, Saturday!
