The refuge stands at 2000 meters in the middle of the homonymous plateau. "Ciampedie" in the Ladin language means "Field of God". The plateau is surrounded by a magnificent forest of larch and fir trees. To the south, the plateau overlooks the lower Val di Fassa, in fact in several points you can enjoy an excellent view of the villages of Vigo and Pozza di Fassa and almost the entire valley. From the refuge you can enjoy a 360° panorama of the main Dolomite peaks. In fact, from here you can embrace the entire Catinaccio group with a glance, with Roda di Vael, the Cigolade, Cima Catinaccio, the very famous Torri del Vajolet and the jagged cliffs of Larsec.
