A ripe and elegant red from Bolgheri!
Founded in 1977, Grattamacco thrive in making outstanding wines. Its vineyards at altitudes of 100-200 metres above sea level where the cab, Merlot and Sangiovese are perfectly ripe and challenge each other to achieve finesse over power. This wine blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese to reach a certain elegance that is rare to find.
The nose is a combo of dark fruits and chocolate with notes of plum and black currants, elegant and full with a fresh balsamic finish from the Sangiovese.
This is a dense wine with ripe, juicy, rich tannins and a striking structure.
Grattamacco winery uses the typical “Bordeaux” approach with their Bolgheri Superiore, which is selected directly from the best barrels to enhance the elegance and aging potential. In contrast, the Rosso is selected for its freshness and drinkability.
