😂You’ve probably heard the jokes about the ridiculous length that German words can reach. Compound nouns “🇩🇪Komposita” in German, are words made of two or more nouns that are written all together. In German, no 2 two nouns can be written separately next to each other. The language generally has a tendency to join them into one word.
📌The first thing you have to know is that no matter how long the string of individual words is, the very last word determines gender of the compound Noun.
🌊Example: das Wasser + der Fall
=der Wasserfall
🇩🇪The compound Noun “Wasserfall” is taking the article/gender “der” of last word “der Fall”.
