A two-day workshop, coinciding with the 2019 London Climate Action Week, brought together youth leaders and representatives from civil society groups working on environment, climate change, and health.
The workshop was organized by the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Stanley Center, and the Wellcome Trust, in partnership with a number of civil society organizations.
These inspirational young people make the case that a safe, clean, and healthy environment is integral to sustainable development, the full enjoyment of a wide range of human rights, and to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
Climate change poses a grave threat to human health through pathways as diverse as extreme weather events, heat waves, vector-born disease, poor air quality, food insecurity, displacement, and conflict.
