In this video Salvatore Vinciguerra travels to the New Orleans Louisiana to visit the New Orleans Museum of Art located in City Park. The New Orleans Museum of Art or NOMA includes the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden which is located outside the museum. NOMA can be easily accessed by public transportation (Trolley car or Bus) or private vehicle with plenty of parking in City Park.

Salvatore suggests spending a day to explore everything that this area has to offer. Cafe Du Monde has beignets and coffee throughout the day. He suggests that you eat breakfast here first and then walk around the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture garden as it will be cooler at this time of day. This is also a great evening activity as the sun goes down in the "Big Easy". Then Salvatore suggests that you go into the New Orleans Museum of Art to enjoy the art and air conditioning. First, you should explore the special exhibits and then the permanent art collections.

NOMA has over 40,000 pieces of art that span over 5,000 years. Salvatore shares with you a virtual tour of museum which includes works from Degas, Monet, Renoir, Picasso, PIssarro, Rodin, Braque, Dufy, Miro, Jackson Pollock, Mary Cassatt, and George O'Keeffe. The French Impressionist Edgar Degas lived in New Orleans for only 2 years in 1871 & 1872 and some of his works from his time in New Orleans are on display. The art collections also include those of Louisiana artist from furniture displays to art documenting hurricane Katrina that destroyed most of the Lower Ninth Ward and New Orleans in 2005. Features of artwork include 12,000 works that display the history of photography, collections of glass, ceramics, portrait miniatures, Native American Art, Central American art from pre-Columbian and Spanish eras, Chinese ceramics, Japanese painting, Indian sculpture and folk arts from Africa, Indonesia, and South Pacific.
