Amit Shah, the union home minister, will address a rally in Mandya on Saturday with the goal of giving the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a much-needed boost in the Old Mysuru area. Shah, a prominent party campaigner, is anticipated to give a report card on the BJP's successes at the occasion. The Union minister will visit the cultural and information technology hubs of Mysuru and Bengaluru in an effort to inspire party members to work hard for the upcoming Assembly elections. A communal dispute has been brewing in Srirangapatna, the former capital of Mysuru under Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan, ever since Hindu organizations asserted their right to worship in Jamia Masjid.
