This is an uncut version of our drive from Bouseyas to Saint Étienne de Tinée on the Col de la Bonnette / Restefond!
This side of the pass is often incorrectly referred to as the Col de Restefond but is actually still the Col de la Bonnete.
With a maximum elevation of 8,907 ft the Col de la Bonette is the seventh highest paved road in the Alps and is located in the Mercantour National Park in the French Alps, near the border with Italy. The road was first built around 1860 and has featured in the Tour de France four times.
What is better on mountain roads; a hot hatch or a luxury sports saloon?
We went on a 2000 mile road trip to The French Riviera (Monaco and the surrounding area) to drive some of the world’s best driving roads to find out! This is The Retro Lab’s Monte Carlo Rallye!
